The 2026 DATS subject specialist network annual conference will be held at The Harris, Preston, on Thursday 8 & Friday 9 October.

The conference will include a tour of the exhibition Horrockses Fashions and visit to collections stores with Scott Schiavone, Decorative Art Curator.

We are delighted to announce a keynote presentation by Rose Sinclair MBE and an invited presentation by artist Hannah Sabapathy, featuring her site-specific works at The Harris.

The call for papers closes on Monday 29 June at 17:00 BST.

DATS welcomes submissions from professionals and researchers at any stage of their career who work with dress, fashion, costume and textiles collections, exhibitions, preservation and material culture.

Presentations should address the theme of pattern. The full call for papers is available here.
