We’d like to invite DATS members for private tours of two new Edinburgh fashion and textile exhibitions – Body Beautiful: Diversity on the Catwalk at the National Museum of Scotland and Julie Cope’s Grand Tour: The Story of a Life by Grayson Perry at Dovecot Studios – on the afternoon of Friday 11th October.
Dovecot Studios are kindly offering DATS members a reduced entry fee to the exhibition for this event (Body Beautiful is free entry) so the cost of the whole day will therefore be £6.50pp (or Art Fund members can enter for £4.50).
The plan for the afternoon is to meet at the National Museum of Scotland at 2pm in the entrance of Body Beautiful for a tour and some free time to look around, before regrouping at 3pm to walk around the corner to Dovecot Studios, where curator Kate Grenyer will kindly provide a tour of Julie Cope’s Grand Tour.
This is a great opportunity for colleagues to meet and see these two exhibitions before they close (20th October and 2nd November respectively).
To round off the day, at 4.30 pm there will be the chance for optional networking and a catch up with colleagues in the bar at Spoon café along the road. Please do feel free to come along one or both tours – or if you are only able to meet us after work at Spoon cafe then we’d still love to see you!
Please contact Georgina Ripley (G.Ripley@nms.ac.uk) if you would like to book a place on the visit and we look forward to seeing you in October.
