Dress and Textile Specialists Conference 2022 

The 2022 DATS conference will be held at Bristol M Shed and live via Zoom on Friday 21st October, with a day of associated visits on Thursday 20th October.

The day will include a friendly ‘your questions answered’ session, where DATS colleagues will be invited to submit and respond to any questions relating to museum and heritage practices, projects, object identification, care and conservation.

The call for papers is now open. 

We would be delighted to receive submissions for talks of 15-20 minutes on the subject of:

Skeletons in the closet: the legacies of dress and textiles collection practices 

Topics may include, but are not limited to:

To submit your proposal please send an abstract or summary of no more than 200 words, plus a 50 word biography to Emily Taylor at events@dressandtextilespecialists.org.uk by 12:00 Friday 5 August.

Presenters are encouraged to attend in person. DATS will be offering attendance bursaries for the conference, please note on your abstract if this may be of interest or necessity.

The call for presenters is open to anyone interested in the subject, please forward widely to your colleagues and networks.

Ticket sales will open at the beginning of August.
